October 6, 2025 — The Ni Lab Welcomes Its First Graduate Students
The Ni Lab is delighted to welcome Aslan Tapkharov and Hanieh Ghasemi, our two first-year graduate students! They have enthusiastically joined the effort to set up the new lab, diving into unpacking boxes and discovering the array of instruments and equipment that will power our future research. With great curiosity and excitement, Aslan and Hanieh are eager to begin their first experiments on heterocycle synthesis. We are thrilled to have them on board and look forward to the discoveries ahead!

We are excited to announce that Dr. Huiqi Ni has started her new position as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Marquette University. After a long journey moving from California, Dr. Ni is eager to begin establishing her research group. Her lab will focus on transition metal catalysis and organic synthesis, developing innovative methodologies to access bioactive molecules and accelerate drug discovery. She looks forward to welcoming new students and building a collaborative research environment.
